The "kröndel" comb This tool is manipulated with two hands, and is made up of several different parts: a iron handle lengthened by a stirrup, around 4cm wide, leaving a gap 1cm by 13cm in which forged chisels are set at each end. The tool can hold eleven 10 x 10cm section chisels, or 22 rectangular 5 x 10 section chisels. The tips are lined up on one side to form a cutting edge, held firmly in place by a wedge. The resulting finish is known as "scabble". |
