The "spitzeisen" point
A steel shaft, octagonal or hexagonal in section, 12 to 18mm in diameter and 25 to 35cm long, with a point at one end.

The "knupfel" mallet
A half-spherical beech wood mallet, 12 to 20cm in diameter, with a handle running through the middle. It is used in conjunction with the gradine, chisel, wide chisel and any mallet-headed tools.

The "zahneisen" gradine
A 12 to 18 mm diameter chisel, which has an end equipped with between 4 and 6 flat teeth.
Another type of gradine exists, made up of two elements: a steel handle and a tip, with or without teeth, 15 to 40mm wide.
